Email Article Karen asks: I would like the following stool appraised.



AW says: That’s a charming American classic. It’s a 19th century pine top milking stool, which is why it’s so short. The braces are of Oak and the frame likely maple. Use of multiple woods is common in antique furniture.
It’s too bad that one rung has been broken and that will affect the value. My appraisal is for it in the condition it’s in.
Retail value: $30-$40
Wholesale: $15
