Artists of any kind will benefit from listening to this episode of the Selling Circus which features an interview with Monk, an indie musician from Munich, Germany.
Not only is Monk a very talented musician who has completely produced his new CD, Damaged Music for Damaged People, but he has taken control of marketing and promotion as well.
A man of many instruments, he plays everything on the album, has recorded it and mixed it himself.
In ep21 of the Selling Circus he explains how he did it, what steps other artists can take to be successful and how reaching out to an online network has helped him.
Monk subscribes to the theory that if you give something away, people will support you if it’s of good quality. It’s working for him very well. You can find his music free at: http://monk-music-monk.com
A BIG thanks to my friend Susan from http://renagadesrelics.com/ for helping out with the show. She has been a fan of Monk’s since he popped up online and is now acting as a distribution agent for his CD in the US.
I’d also like to thank some of the folks who show up every week to support the show and network with peers in the chat room. They provide inspiration and valuable information, and are the fuel for the engine needed to run a podcast.
They are:
Kat S. who can be found at: KatsKloset
Kat B the Gypsygirl
The Savvy Seller will give you Tips from the Top
Phaedra from The Bonanzle Boardroom
Brightest Blessings helping just about anyone she can.
Shar from Sharsboutique who is also a sponsor of the show.
MommysBazaar who is so helpful to getting the word out for everyone!
and last but not least:
2woofers who has the best in unsual books and has really taken this episode to heart by supporting his cat who is working hard to break into the music business.

Wally,
I was my HONOR and pleasure to co-host this unique show with you. Monk has a remarkable story and I thank you for the opportunity to be part of helping get his message out.
You also provided Monk and I the chance to finally say hello to each other on the phone. That in itself is a gift I will always treasure.
Thanks to all that listened and will take the time to listen.
Great article ... I am proud to call all the about mentioned 'friend'.
Susan
PS ...2 Woofers ... Do you think your cat would be up to and interview for my articles? LOL
Lot of talent there!
Think a special award is in order for 2woofers; who ever heard of a doggy selling books to support a cats career ?
A credit to his ' woof ' ; what could beat that ?
4 paws to you!
@Bengal Tiger: LOL! I would have to agree with you there. If I had a cat that could play guitar, I'd exploit it and retire! (My cats play drums and accordian)
