There will be no more new episodes to the Selling Circus, but all the past shows will stay posted on the Talkshoe Network as well as the show notes.

I hope you’ll all join me as I amp it up on the AuctionWally Show.

Artists of any kind will benefit from listening to this episode of the Selling Circus which features an interview with Monk, an indie musician from Munich, Germany.

Not only is Monk a very talented musician who has completely produced his new CD, Damaged Music for Damaged People, but he has taken control of marketing and promotion as well.

A man of many instruments, he plays everything on the album, has recorded it and mixed it himself.

In ep21 of the Selling Circus he explains how he did it, what steps other artists can take to be successful and how reaching out to an online network has helped him.

Monk subscribes to the theory that if you give something away, people will support you if it’s of good quality. It’s working for him very well. You can find his music free at: http://monk-music-monk.com

A BIG thanks to my friend Susan from http://renagadesrelics.com/ for helping out with the show. She has been a fan of Monk’s since he popped up online and is now acting as a distribution agent for his CD in the US.

I’d also like to thank some of the folks who show up every week to support the show and network with peers in the chat room. They provide inspiration and valuable information, and are the fuel for the engine needed to run a podcast.

They are:

Hey everyone, the information conveyed and it’s sincere delivery were a delight to witness with Chuck Hester from Chuck Hester.com and iContact.com one of the leading email subscription list management services on the Web.

Chuck gave a good account of why and how to have an email subscription list, along with the best tips and tricks. An email subscriber list is a list of people who are your BEST prospects because they already know about what you do, and/or are already customers. Nuff, said here, but you should listen to the episode.

For the next half of the show, Chuck talked about the fascinating Pay it Forward group he’s involved with in Raliegh, NC. If you’re not familiar with the Pay it Forward movement, listening to Chuck is about the best way of learning that I can think of. And if you are, the conversation will ring familiar bells, so be warned you may be sparked into doing something productive and helpful.

Chuck has a book called Linking In to Pay it Forward. He’s offered a special promo code (payitforward10) that folks can use to get a 10% discount, free shipping and a special autographed copy.

Stephanie Hester, Chucks, wife has a book as well that we would like you to know about called Choose a Better Life.

Hey there Circus goers! Episode 15 of the Selling Circus was packed with information and fun, or as our friend John Lawson calls it, “edutainment”!

This was our monthly roundtable episode which featured as guests, Kat Simpson and John Lawson.

Phaedra moderated the show again, with all 3 of us on the hotseat. She’s gotten a new beeper to keep us to the 2 minute answer limit!

The questions asked were:

When selling on a venue, what are your top three marketing suggestions?

Does that change if selling on your own website?

What to look for in a mentor?

If you could only follow one person on Twitter, who would it be and why?

I am completely new to ecommerce, I look to you and ask, “where do I start?”

2 minutes each freestyle - whatever you did not get to say, here is your chance.

In the mix, Phaedra also fielded some great questions from the chatroom which she said was on FIRE!

I’m glad to hear there’s such an interest in this format on the show. We have a list of people who’ve requested to come on for these round tables and will be picking some of the most interesting characters in and out of our genres. If you know someone who you think would be a great candidate for a roundtable episode, send them by, we’d love to talk to them.

And as always, we welcome your comments and questions.

Judy’s take on the situation, is that there is no need to panic, and following Google’s new policy will work out best in the long-run for everyone without a lot of collateral damage.

The next topic we covered was the fact that antiques shows, flea markets and shops, seem to be making somewhat of a comeback. Rather than take sides, we on the show chose to address how doing both could work nicely together.

Also sending us here opinion was Susan Leak, aka Renegade. Susan is a dj, an Examiner, and an ecommerce merchant who has continually re-invented her brand while staying in the genre she loves. Music.

The chat room was very active and Phaedra and I have been pleased with the amount of participation in the live show. We ended with an appeal for folks to hit those Stumble and Digg buttons! In the future, we’ll be letting you know where you can find the show on iTunes, Podcast Alley, The Blubrry Network and more.
If you have any comments or questions for upcoming shows, we’d love to hear them.
